Welcome to LymeId. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information from our users:

  • Personal Information: Name and email address.
  • Health Information: Images of bites and responses to a questionnaire.

Cookies

LymeID only uses cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you logged in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

  • Provide personalized insights and determine the likelihood of Lyme disease.
  • Improve our AI models (only with your explicit consent).

Unless you expressly allow us to use your images for training purposes, we do not use your data for this purpose.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using cloud-based solutions:

  • Personal information is stored in secure cloud storage with encryption at rest.
  • Medical images are stored in a secure cloud-based storage bucket with access controls.
  • All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols.
  • We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, including encryption, strict access controls, and regular security assessments.

Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal or medical information, we will notify you without unreasonable delay. For California residents, notification will be provided in accordance with CMIA requirements. We maintain incident response procedures to ensure prompt detection and notification of any security incidents.

Data Sharing

We do not share any of your data with third parties under any circumstances.

User Rights

As a user of LymeId, you have the following rights:

  • Access Your Data: You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete Your Data: You can request the deletion of all your personal data at any time.

Intended Audience

LymeId is designed for use by adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 18.

AI Transparency

LymeId uses a proprietary AI model to analyze bite images. The model provides a percentage likelihood of Lyme disease, which is presented to the user after evaluation.

Your data is not used to train our models unless you explicitly grant permission to do so.

Data Retention

We retain your medical information and evaluation data for seven (7) years from the date of creation to comply with applicable medical records laws. After this retention period, your data will be securely deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

California Residents - CMIA Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA). These rights include:

  • The right to access and inspect your medical information maintained by LymeID
  • The right to request corrections to your medical information if you believe it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • The right to know with whom your medical information has been shared, if applicable
  • The right to authorize or refuse the release of your medical information to third parties
  • The right to receive notification without unreasonable delay if your medical information is subject to a breach

We do not share your medical information with third parties without your written authorization. Any authorization you provide will expire within one year and may be revoked at any time.
